Due to our Company being a mining sector actor currently, sustainability reporting requires intensive studies in many areas, especially in the area of environmental principles. Considering that our Company’s previous work in the field of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (“ESG”) are predominantly focused on corporate governance and due to ongoing investment process to be an actor in electricity production our current activities are limited to mining activities carried out through our sub-contractors, The Board of Directors of our Company has decided to determine a roadmap for ESG in the first place and to gradually implement the action plans necessary for compliance with “The Sustainability Principles Compliance Framework” in line with this roadmap.
Within the scope of work performed to comply with Sustainability Principles Compliance Framework, our Board of Directors has determined the priority issues of ESG and formed its ESG policies within this framework.

The construction process in Konya Ilgın Thermal Power Plant has not yet started due to ongoing negative conjecture in Turkey’s energy market and ongoing legal process against the Energy Market Regulation Authority’s (“EMRA”) decision regarding cancellation of our subsidiary’s electricity generation license. It is anticipated that the construction and investment process will take approximately 3.5 years after the conditions become favourable. Therefore, our Company, which will be in the investment process in the medium term through its subsidiary, considered that it will be more suitable to determine the short and long term targets and determine Key Performance Indicators (“KPI”) in accordance with the electricity generation sector, which is the sector planned to be active in the medium term. Studies carried out in this area are continuing and have not yet been concluded.
